You've discovered you're a Highly Sensitive Person. That moment when years of feeling "too much" suddenly makes sense brings both relief and clarity. But discovery is just the starting point.
Your sensitivity isn't something to manage around or overcome. It's wiring that, when understood and worked with intentionally, becomes a valuable asset in how you navigate work, relationships, and life decisions.
What is High Sensitivity?
A Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is someone born with increased sensitivity to subtle stimulation—you process information and experiences more deeply than most. This isn't a diagnosis. It's a personality trait called Sensory Processing Sensitivity, found in roughly 20% of the population across all genders and backgrounds.
This trait shapes how you experience both the joys and stresses of life. You likely excel at noticing subtle details and emotional cues, making you deeply empathetic and perceptive. Your thoughtfulness brings creativity, strong intuition, and a deep appreciation for art, nature, and authentic relationships. You notice what others miss and value meaningful connections.
Yet high sensitivity also means being easily overwhelmed by busy environments or intense sensory input, leading to fatigue or stress more quickly. Criticism or conflict hits harder because you process emotional information more deeply.
The key insight: these aren't separate challenges to overcome and strengths to celebrate. They're different sides of the same processing style—one that, when you understand it, becomes a strategic advantage.
You can learn more from psychologist Elaine Aron, Ph. D., whose groundbreaking work defines much of what we know about HSPs today.
Why hsp coaching?
Understanding your sensitivity is just the beginning. You need practical skills and frameworks that honor your wiring while helping you achieve your goals. You need strategies that translate insight into action and confidence.
As an HSP and coach, I know how powerful this trait can be when you stop working against it and start working with it intentionally.

‘Incredible Listener—Makes You Feel Truly Heard’
Derek’s gift for listening and reflecting back what I’m really saying is unmatched. In every session, he asks thoughtful questions, helps me untangle what’s on my mind, and somehow mirrors back insights I didn’t even realize I’d shared. I always leave feeling not just heard, but deeply understood—and every time, I understand myself a bit better too. This kind of attentive presence has made a huge difference in my confidence and clarity
what makes this different
-
This is 1:1 coaching—not a class, course, or self-study program. It's coaching specifically calibrated to how HSPs actually function: deeper processing, heightened awareness of subtleties, and the need for authentic connection in the coaching relationship itself.
-
Most current HSP support focuses on managing overwhelm or coping with sensitivity. This work is designed around a different premise: your heightened awareness is an asset that can guide better decisions, stronger relationships, and more aligned choices when you know how to work with it systematically.
-
The combination of credentials matters here. As a PCC-credentialed coach with specialized HSP training through both the Nickerson Institute and Highly Sensitive Human Academy, you get someone who understands both the lived experience and the practical frameworks needed for real development.
-
While many HSP coaches focus primarily on stress reduction and overwhelm management, this approach centers on self-awareness and capability development. We map how your sensitivity shapes your everyday experiences—from decision-making patterns to energy management to relationship dynamics—then build on those insights to enhance how you show up in work and life.
-
You're curious about what your sensitivity means for your success and wellbeing. That curiosity is exactly what this work is designed to leverage.
How We work together
-
We build awareness of how your sensitivity shows up in daily life. You'll identify your unique strengths and understand how your processing style influences work, relationships, and decisions. This creates the foundation for everything else.
-
You develop specific skills: saying no without over-explaining, communicating your needs clearly at work, creating sustainable routines that honor your energy patterns. You'll learn to advocate for your work style and make decisions that leverage your natural processing depth.
-
We address specific challenges or transitions you're facing, always with an eye toward action and growth. This isn't therapy—it's strategic development that moves you from feeling overwhelmed in team meetings to having clear strategies for participating fully while protecting your energy.
-
You'll discover how your sensitivity translates into professional and personal advantages, and learn to communicate these strengths clearly and confidently.
